
To get to the O'Brien Center from North of Harrison, Arkansas, come in on Highway 65 South. As you get near Harrison, turn right on Airport Road. It will make a nearly right angle turn to the left in less than a mile. You will then almost immediately turn right on Highway 397. Follow the signs for 397 - it will make a 0.1 mile jog left and then right. You'll be on Hwy 397 about 2 miles total. It ends at Hwy 43. Turn right and follow the curves of Hwy 43 for just over 4 miles. Watch for the junction of Hwy 206. (Don't turn there, just note when you pass that junction.) Hillside Lane is less than one mile past that junction on the right. Turn right on Hillside Lane, follow the pavement for only about 20 feet straight ahead, then take the less steep gravel road 1/10 mile. The Jack O'Brien Center is well labeled, and will be on the right.
Coming from Mountain Home or Little Rock, you will drive in on Highway 65. When you pass the weight station at the junction of Hwy 62, start watching for Hwy 206 to your left. You'll be turning left in just over a mile on Highway 206. Watch closely for the sign. It is very small. Follow Highway 206 for about 15-16 miles, until it ends at Hwy 43 South. Turn left, and go less than one mile to Hillside Lane. Turn right, and follow the less steep gravel road to the Jack O'Brien Center.
From the west, you'll come in one Highway 62/412. Watch for the junction of Hwy 392 on the right. Take a right on Hwy 392, and follow it through the community of Batavia, around the curves at the base of Pilot Knob Mountain, and head toward Capps. When you see the speed limit sign for 40 mph at Capps, start looking to your right for Creel Road. Turn right on Creel Road, and follow it a few miles until it ends at Hwy 43. Turn right on Hwy 43 and follow it for a mile or two until you see the junction of Hwy 206. Don't turn there, just note when you pass that junction. We are less than a mile past that junction on the right. Turn right on Hillside Lane, and go straight, off the pavement onto the less steep gravel road. the Jack O'Brien Center is on the right. It is well labeled. (If you miss Creel Road coming in from the west, continue on Hwy 392 until you come to Hwy 397 to the right, turn there, and follow the directions for coming in the the north from that point on. Don't turn left on Hwy 397 - go 1/10 of a mile farther, and find 397 on the right.)
Directions to the Fitness Club:
On Highway 62-65 Harrison there is an intersection where you'll find a Shoney's, Wendys, White Oak Station, and a small shopping mall. Highway 43 East starts at that intersection, between the Wendy's and White Oak Station - left if you are coming from the north, right if you are coming from the south. Turn there, go about 2 city blocks, past the bowling alley, and you'll see The Fitness Club on the right.
Directions to the Huddleston dojo:
The Huddleston Dojo is not far off Big Oak Road in Harrison. Big Oak Road goes to the north off Bunker Road between Cottonwood Avenue and Hwy 7 North. From Big Oak Rd about 0.6 miles from Bunker Rd. there is a sign on the left for Quaint Lane, which is a narrow dirt road. Turn left there, and wind around about 1/4 of a mile to the very last house on that road. Park on the side of the road, kind of under some of the trees. It's a blue-grey house, and the dojo is on the ground level on the left hand side of the house. There is a small patio there, and some patio furniture. When we are tangoing there, or when Johnny is teaching karate there, the lights will be on and the door open. Just come on in and join us.
Directions to My Friend's Closet (Art Walk Milonga):
My Friend’s closet is on the courthouse square in Harrison. Get on Business 65 (Hwy 65B), which becomes Main Street, and follow it to the square. The streets that make up the square are Willow, Stephenson, Rush and Main Street. My Friend’s closet is on the street that runs parallel to Main Street (Willow). Come in the front door, and walk toward the back of the store. We will be up the stairs to your right.
Directions to Twelve Oaks (parties):
From Harrison, take Highway 7 South about a mile and a half. Twelve Oaks is a large white house on the right side of the road--there is a white sign with Twelve Oaks in black. The address is 7210 Highway 7 South. Click here for map.
